Zero Borrow

Alerts when a gaining stock has zero shares available to borrow — a classic hard-to-borrow signal.

The Zero Borrow Scanner finds stocks where no shares are left to borrow (available shares = 0) while the stock is moving up. That often means shorts are trapped or new shorts cannot enter — a key signal for squeeze traders.

What the metrics mean:

  • CTB Fee — cost to borrow; often elevated when shares are gone
  • Short Int — percent of float sold short
  • Avail. Shares — shares brokers report as available to borrow (0 = none left)
  • Rel. Vol — today’s volume vs. normal
  • Float — tradable share supply

Watchlist DM

If you add a ticker to /watchlist and enable Zero Borrow in /watchlist settings, you get a short DM with price and category. (Uses the generic watchlist layout — enable Squeeze too for richer short-data fields on the same ticker.)

When it runs

  • Extended market hours: 4:00 AM – 8:00 PM ET, Monday–Friday
  • Does not run on weekends or US market holidays

Why traders use it

  • Zero shares to borrow while a stock is green often means shorts are trapped or new shorts cannot enter.
  • CTB and short interest on the same alert help you gauge how crowded the name is.
  • Often the first hard-to-borrow signal before a name shows up on Squeeze or Volume alerts.

Notes

  • Zero available shares ≠ zero borrow fee — CTB can still show a rate; the key signal is Avail. Shares: 0
  • Small-cap focus in All-in-One — large caps are filtered out of the composite feed
